Snow, Snow, Snow

Post by flyingcow on Sat Feb 27, 2010 1:01 pm

It's been snowing two days in a row and it's finally stopped for today. Wheew! Glad it's over... at least, for now. O_O!

Anyways, I've finished translations for Mukougawa no Masaka chapter 2 and sent it along for typesetting. I still have to redo the first chapter and add the SFX and you know, I completely forgot to add the cover! Whoops!

I'm going to start translations for Inazuma Eleven next and the first chapter will be released on the 28th. Be sure to mark that on your calendar! It's also a whopping 70 pages long so, yeah, prepare for a long read. C:

Anyways, I think this will be my last update for this month so see ya in March!

Mukougawano Masaka chapter 2 update

Post by flyingcow on Thu Feb 25, 2010 10:27 am

I'm almost done translating Mukougawa no Masaka chapter 2. I should be sending it off for typesetting later this week.

Afterwards, I'll be working on translating chapter 1 of Inazuma Eleven so we can get that released by the end of March. If you haven't checked it out already, IE will be released monthly until we're done with MnM and IE will be released bi-weekly. For up-to-date schedule, check out the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Changes to the Forum

Post by flyingcow on Tue Feb 23, 2010 9:21 am

If you haven't noticed, there's now a new section to the forum: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. This is a series we will be working on after we're finished with Mukougawa no Masaka. At the moment, it seems like I will not be able to get a hold of the second volume to MnM so King Golf will be it's replacement.

Other than that, I decided to split the Announcements and the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I thought it'd be better in the long run if they were separate. If there's anything that you think will make this place better, drop a line and I'll see what I can do. C:

Translations, Translations, Translations

Post by flyingcow on Mon Feb 22, 2010 10:16 am

This week, I'll be working on translating the next chapter to Mukougawa no Masaka. Up next is Inazuma Eleven chapter 1 which is a whopping 70 pages long! And beyond that, I will pretty much cycle through all the series; Stand Up! chapter 5, Mukougawa no Masaka chapter 3, Inazuma Eleven chapter 2 and 3.

If I don't post anything for awhile, then you know why! O_O;

Stand Up! Chapter 2 Released & Other News

Post by flyingcow on Sun Feb 21, 2010 10:40 am

If you didn't check already, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Enjoy!

In other news, I'm actively looking for the second volume of Stand Up! It was recently released late last month. Hopefully, it'll show up soon in the Japenese bookstores I go to... or else there will be no more after the 5th chapter in May. ;_;

Speaking of bookstores, I found Inazuma Eleven volume 1 and I'm happy to announce that we will start the series from the beginning. Wooo! Also, I picked up the first volume of King Golf which I previously dropped because of the low quality of the scan I found online. It's a pretty interesting series with a delinquent main character, a bit of a shady coach, and just as interesting side characters. XD

No idea about the release date for that series yet but we'll see as time goes on. Anyways, we need more staff members - if you want to help out, please [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]!

More About Mukougawa no Masaka

Post by flyingcow on Fri Feb 19, 2010 9:47 am

As I previously mentioned, Mukougawa no Masaka chapter 2 is up next for translation. There are four chapters in the first volume so we will be done with it by May. I haven't seen the second volume anywhere but it was released last year on January 5th. No signs of a third volume from my research so the series may have ended on the second volume. If I can find the second volume, I'll continue bringing out the series but if I can't find it, I'll translate another series instead.

Btw, Mukougawa no Masaka was not accepted in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] which I kind of expected to happen. Such a shame though but whatever. Feel free to pass the link around from this site! C:

Major News

Post by flyingcow on Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:31 am

I'm almost done with translating Major 620. Just a few more lines and I'll be sending it off to E-A.
After, I'll be moving on to translating Mukougawa no Masaka chapter 2 so it'll be ready for next month's release and then Inazuma Eleven chapter 5 for its March 28th release. Whew! What a tight schedule!

Anyways, stay tuned for this weekends Stand Up! chapter 1 release! This chapter is even better than the first! C:

[UPDATE]
Okay, I just sent my translation for Major 620 to E-A. Now it's just a matter of time for the release. C:

Flying Cow Release Schedule

Post by flyingcow on Tue Feb 16, 2010 2:59 pm

It's been almost a month now since our first manga release for Flying Cow and we're pretty much getting into a rhythm now. We'll be releasing chapters for each manga project we're working on in a monthly basis (assuming all goes well, of course!). Schedules are:

Mukougawa no Masaka - 14th of each month
Stand Up! - 21st of each month
Inazuma Eleven - 28th of each month

We're still in need of more typesetters and translators. We're open to any project a translator may wish to work on. If you have some spare time and would like to help, please drop by the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] section. Beginners are welcome!

Typesetting Tag Team

Post by flyingcow on Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:26 am

JohnBG and I are furiously working on typesetting Mukougawa no Masaka for this Saturday's release. My laptop's ac adapter died yesterday which is a bit of a problem; I'll have to make do with my desktop computer sans Photoshop. I don't think my replacement adapter will make it to me by this weekend but I can hope!

Anyways, back to work!!

Downloads Are Now Open to Anyone

Post by flyingcow on Tue Feb 09, 2010 4:08 pm

I've decided to open the downloads up to anyone to get. There's no real reason for me to keep it in the dark as I originally had it. Raws are self-funded, the forum is free, and there's really no hosting fee or anything that has to be maintained. Sooooo - enjoy!

To keep spam to a minimum, you still have to be a member if you want to post anything in the forum. Later!

Operation: Release Mukougawa no Masaka!!!

Post by flyingcow on Mon Feb 08, 2010 11:15 am

I think I've mentioned this before but I'll mention it again: we're currently aiming to release Mukougawa no Masaka this weekend on the 13th. I finished about 60% of the translations for the first chapter and I will be sending that along to JohnBG to be typeset today. There's about 24 more pages for me to do which I think I can finish by Tuesday. (Btw, there's like 54 pages in the chapter...)

For those wondering about Inazuma Eleven and Major, they've been put on hold for the time being while I get this little bit done. Don't worry, I'll get back to them soon! C:

Urrrrrr......

Post by flyingcow on Fri Feb 05, 2010 3:12 pm

I'm been feeling a bit off the past couple of days and it reared it's ugly head yesterday night. Thankfully, I was able to hold it down by taking some meds and going to sleep but I'm still feeling off. Hopefully it'll go away in time... -_-

Translation notes:
Major ch.620 - 75% done
Inazuma Eleven ch.5 - 40%
Mukougawa no Masaka ch.1 - 40%
Stand Up! ch. 4 - complete

Major 620 Almost Done

Post by flyingcow on Thu Feb 04, 2010 4:15 pm

I'm almost done translating Major chapter 620. Just a few more lines to translate before I pass it on to E-A (no, not the video game giant). I expect to send it along either tonight or tomorrow.

Mukougawa no Masaka is also moving along. There's some kanji that I can't find though like one for the sign to the shop. Rather troublesome but I guess it can be omitted.... Neutral I expect to release it next week. The 13th would be a good date - too bad it's not Friday, the 13th. I think it'll be a nice kick to release a horror fantasy manga on a day like that. Ah well, it'll work just as well. C:

Drool Drool for Eyeshield 21 Character Data Book

Post by flyingcow on Wed Feb 03, 2010 2:28 pm

A couple of days ago, I got my hot hands on Eyeshield 21 Ballers High. For those who don't know, that is the character data book for the series with over 300 pages of info, images, and lots of good stuff. The book covers all the teams in the series including Panther's NASA team, and even the small time teams like Yuhi Guts, and the Giants (uh, not the NY Giants).

What's really interesting is the two chapters in the back of the book with an alternative beginning to the series. Everything looks weird... The Haha Brothers look off except Jumonji, Kurita is thinner, Sena doesn't have his pointy hair, and Mamori doesn't make an appearance at all. Hiruma's still his same ol' self though! XD

I would LOVE to do this book but I'll have to set it aside. Too many things to translate at the moment and looking at all the kanji is making my head spin. But it's time will come one day...

For now.... Anyone want to translate it? C: C: C:

Template Switch-a-Roo

Post by flyingcow on Tue Feb 02, 2010 1:35 pm

Yes! This is Flying Cow!

I had some problems with the previous skin for the forum; like images showing up misaligned, text not showing up, etc; so I switched to this current blue-theme. For now, it's looking good so maybe it'll be permanent.

In other news...
- Stand Up! chapter 4 is being typeset
- Mukougawa no Masaka chapter 2 is being cleaned
- Inazuma Eleven is being cleaned
and I'm moving along with translations.

Progress Report 2010 - February

Post by flyingcow on Mon Feb 01, 2010 11:46 am

I'll be posting tabs on what's happening with each Flying Cow scanlation project here. Originally, I was going solo but several volunteers has come forth and there are now four people in the team. Thanks to their support, things are moving a bit faster now. Now on to the good stuff!

The following manga are ones that Flying Cow will definitely release:

Inazuma Eleven
- Volume 1 scanned and need to be edited; translation in works (2/22/10)
- Volume 2 is being cleaned; translation put on hold (2/22/10)
- Volume 3-4 being edited now

Kyoton-Chan
- scan complete
- translation ongoing
- editing of pages in progress

Mukougawa no Masaka
- chapter 1 released 2/14/10
- chapter 2 being cleaned and translated (2/14/10)

Stand Up!
- chapter 2 to be released Feb-21-2010
- chapter 3 to be released Mar-21-2010
- chapter 4 is being typeset; expected release date Apr-21-2010
- chapter 5 about 50% translated; awaiting typesetting

Yaoyoro!
- volume 1 completely scanned
- editing of pages going on now
- translation has begun

Joint Project Report:

Major (w/Endless Abyss)
- chapter 620 - done
- translation of chapter 621 10% done

I'm really excited to work with Endless Abyss to bring out Major. It's an excellent series and... well, I just hope I don't royally screw up the translations! XD
